Mr. Attaf co-chairs with his Senegalese counterpart the sixth session of the Algerian-Senegalese High Joint Commission

This morning in Algiers, Mr. Ahmed Attaf—Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs—co-chaired the sixth session of the Algerian-Senegalese Joint Commission alongside Mr. Yassine Fall (represented by Mr. Cheikh Niang, Minister of African Integration, Foreign Affairs, and Senegalese Abroad of the sister Republic of Senegal).
The proceedings of the Joint Commission were preceded by a private meeting between the two ministers, followed by expanded talks between the delegations of both countries.
The convening of this Joint Commission served as a significant milestone in realizing the shared desire of both nations to provide fresh momentum to their fraternal relations. It also translated the high-level directives of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and his counterpart, the President of the Republic of Senegal, Mr. Bassirou Diomaye Faye, into practical steps aimed at strengthening and broadening the scope of bilateral cooperation.
In this context, the discussions allowed for an assessment of various areas of cooperation between Algeria and Senegal, as well as the identification of new objectives and priorities across key sectors. These include economic fields—such as investment, energy, mining, industry, agriculture, air transport, and finance—as well as sectors focused on human capital, including higher education, media, youth and sports, justice, culture, and the empowerment of women.
At the conclusion of the proceedings, the two ministers signed the minutes of the Joint Commission meeting, along with 15 agreements and memoranda of understanding, thereby enriching the legal framework that governs Algerian-Senegalese relations.
