LJUBLJANA (Slovenia)- The president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, said Tuesday in Ljubljana, Slovenia, that Algeria is a peaceful state, whose main concern is establishing peace in the region, in the Mediterranean and in the world.

In a joint statement with the president of the Slovenian Republic, Natasa Pirc Musar, following their talks, the president of the Republic said that "in spite of all that is said here and there, Algeria remains a peaceful state, whose main concern is establishing peace in the region, in the Mediterranean and in the entire world."

"Since the country's independence, we have been committed to working towards fluidity and understanding through dialogue, far from violence, to resolve a number of crises," he added.

The president of the Republic also said that Algeria's foreign policy is "very close to that of the Republic of Slovenia."

"We want our special relationship with this friendly country to continue and we will work to raise the level of our trade and economic exchanges in the near future."
