Mr. Attaf Receives the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State

The Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, received today at the Ministry headquarters the US Deputy Secretary of State, Mr. Christopher Landau, who is on an official visit to Algeria.

On this occasion, Minister Ahmed Attaf held a private meeting with Mr. Christopher Landau, followed by expanded talks with the participation of members of both delegations.

These discussions focused on reviewing the remarkable dynamism characterizing the various aspects of Algerian-American relations and exploring ways to further enhance them by strengthening the strategic dialogue and consolidating the partnership in priority areas of cooperation, such as energy, investment, innovation, trade, agriculture, air transport, and higher education.

The two sides also discussed a number of regional and international issues of common interest, most notably developments in the Sahel region and the latest developments in the political process aimed at resolving the Western Sahara issue.
